RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa onThursday said Pakistani nation and its armed forces had done a great job intheir fight against terrorism.
It’s time now to have its dividends through socio-economic development inwhich education was the most important, he said during his visit toPeshawar where he interacted with students of various universities ofKhyber Pakhtunkhwa at Corps Auditorium, a press release issued here byInter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The COAS said that Pakistan was blessed with dynamic and talented youth andfuture of Pakistan belonged to them. Referring to PTM, he said that PTMitself was not an issue. The issues being highlighted were genuine andnatural in the post operation environment.
However, few individuals playing in foreign hands were by design exploitingsentiments of the people who had actually suffered at the hands ofterrorism and now needed care, he added.
The Army Chief said that both the government and the security forces wereworking to address genuine issues of the tribals regardless of where theycame from.
“For us progress towards enduring peace through socio-economic developmentcame first and we shall fail all inimical forces and their conspiraciestrying to undo our gains”, the COAS said.
The students expressed full support for Pakistani armed forces and saidthat they would be contributors and not bystanders to bright future ofPakistan and that they would not be swayed by detractors of any type.
