While no official reason has been given for the increase, it is safe toassume it was done due to the devaluation of the rupee against the USDollar, which has led to an increase in the cost of imports andinadvertently increased the cost of production. Meanwhile, Suzuki has seena massive drop in its profits and is now trying to outset it with higherprices.

Prospective buyers, who did not submit the balance payment within the duedate, will have to pay the new price with immediate effect.

The company had increased the prices in March by PKR 40,000 and PKR 100,000for both the locally manufactured models as well as the CBUs.

In June, the company plans to launch the Suzuki Alto 660cc and its bookingprice has been set at PKR 9.5 million.
