Stressing that immediate elections linkneed of the hour, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheedlink on Saturday called upon thecountry’s ‘establishment’ to step in and pave the way for fresh electionslink.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said he wanted to bring thisthing to the notice of ‘establishment’ that things were now getting out ofcontrol and the confrontation between the ruling PTI and the oppositionparties was no more confined to the corridors of power.
“Another way out of the present political crisis is that PTI MNAs resignfrom their seats,” he suggested.
He demanded a ban on the political parties whose no-confidence motionagainst the government was funded from abroad.
The minister also demanded registration of ‘treason’ cases against thepolitical leaders, who are part of the plot. “If Federal Minister FawadChaudhry writes down an application for the registration of cases againstthese politicians, I will be the first to sign it,” Rasheed announced.
He also announced a ‘political battle’ against the opposition parties. “Iwill appear on a news channel as a talk show host after Eidul Fitr,” hetold newsmen.
The interior minister was of the view that under article 94 of theconstitution, Prime Minister Imran Khan would remain in the office untiland unless a new leader of the House was elected in the event of passage ofno-trust motion in the National Assembly.
