LAHORE – Pakistan’s middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has been fined 20 percent of his match fee and has also received an official reprimand for alate night-out ahead of Sunday’s fifth ODI against Australia in Dubai.
Umar pleaded guilty to the charge, apologised for his actions and acceptedthe sanction proposed by team manager Talat Ali.
PCB Managing Director Wasim Khan said: “I am glad that Umar has realisedhis mistake, and has accepted and apologised for his actions, which wereclearly unprofessional and in no way can be ignored or overlooked.
“The PCB expects a high level of professionalism and commitment from itsplayers, and this action is a reiteration and timely reminder that anyindiscipline shall not be tolerated or accepted.”
The PCB will not be making any further comment on this matter.
