RAWALPINDI – The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday rejectedrepeated Indian claims about the use of F-16 aircraft by the PAF in the airbattle on February 27 and shooting down one of them.

The ISPR in a press release said the February 27 event was part of historynow. “No Pakistani F-16 was hit by Indian Air Force.”

As regards the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) action for strikes across the Lineof Control (LOC), the ISPR said it was done by JF-17 aircraft from withinthe Pakistani airspace. Later, when two Indian jets crossed the LOC theywere shot down by the PAF.

“Whether it was F-16 or JF-17, which shot down two Indian aircraft isimmaterial. Even if F-16 have been used as at that point in time completePAF was airborne, including F-16s, the fact remains that Pakistan Air Forceshot down two Indian jets in self-defence.

“India can assume any type of their choice even F-16. Pakistan retains theright to use anything and everything in its legitimate self defence.”
