NAB Executive Board approved six corruption references against top officials

ISLAMABAD – National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Executive Board Meeting(EBM) Tuesday accorded approval of filing six corruption references againstAbdul Ghani Majeed of Omni group, Ghulam Sarwar Sindhu and others forinflicting colossal losses to national kitty.

The EBM was chaired by Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal approved filingcorruption reference against Iftikhar Rahim Khan, Former Secretary WorkersWelfare Fund and others owing to their alleged involvement in devouringpublic money thus causing Rs 466 million losses to national kitty, said apress release issued here.

Likewise, EBM approved filing corruption reference against Ghulam SarwarSindhu, Former Director Urban Planning, Capital Development Authority (CDA)and others.

They have been accused of allotting 4.5 acre land to Shuttle Bus Service atDiplomatic Enclosure, causing Rs 408.32 million losses to public exchequer.

The EBM accorded consent of filing corruption reference against MuhammadHussain Syed, former Administrator KMC and others.

They have been accused of illegally allotting welfare plot, and inflictingheavy losses to national kitty.

The EBM approved filing corruption reference against Khawaja Abdul GhaniMajeed, Chief Executive Officer , Omni Group of Companies and others fortheir involvement in fake accounts case and allegedly regularizing 7 acrestate land, which inflicted Rs1.422billion losses to national kitty.

The EBM accorded approval of filing corruption reference against Ejaz AhmedKhan, Former Secretary Special Initiative, Department of Sindh andothers.They have been accused of awarding water supply contract to choicepersons. Their illegal act inflicted Rs 29.25 million losses to nationalkitty.

Similarly,the EBM accorded approval of filing corruption reference againstAli Gohar Dahri and others for making illegal recruitments by abusingauthority. This inflicted Rs 74.85 million losses to national kitty.

Meanwhile, Justice Javed Iqbal said NAB was strictly pursuing the policy of‘Accountability for All’. NAB’s foremost policy was to take mega corruptioncases to logical conclusion. NAB has first and last affiliation withPakistan. He directed director generals of NAB to take complaintverification, inquiries and investigations to logical conclusion byensuring merit, transparency in light of concrete evidence as per law.
