OIC resolution on Occupied Kashmir gives a fresh blow to India

ABU DHABI – The OIC Ministerial meeting that concluded today in Abu Dhabireaffirmed its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people in their justcause, says a press release issued by Foreign Ministry.

In a resolution adopted by the 46th session of the Council of ForeignMinisters (CFM), the OIC member states reiterated that Jammu and Kashmirremains the core dispute between Pakistan and India and its resolution isindispensable for the dream for peace in South Asia.

The OIC resolution also condemned in the strongest terms recent wave ofIndian terrorism in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and expressed deep concernover the atrocities and human rights violations in IoK.

The resolution also reminded the international community of its obligationto ensure implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on the Jammuand Kashmir dispute.

In the context of current volatile situation in the region, the OIC memberstates adopted a new resolution sponsored by Pakistan, which expressedgrave concern over the Indian violation of Pakistani airspace; affirmedPakistan s right to self-defence; and urged India to refrain from thethreat or use of force.
