ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan says the steps taken by incumbentgovernment drew the country out of the big economic crisis inherited fromprevious governments and the country is stable right now.
In an interview with Turkey’s Anadolu news agency, he said the governmenthas curtailed the current account deficit by almost seventy five percent.
He said the rupee has stabilized, confidence in our economy is growing andour stock market has gone up.
The Prime Minister said the country has witnessed a big jump in foreigninvestment and now it is a question of keeping it stable.
Imran Khan said now the next challenge for the government is to bring downinflation and start growth in the country.
He said we are also improving the governance system and ease of doingbusiness.
He said Pakistan is one of the top ten countries which went up 28 points inease of doing business.
The Prime Minister said if we keep progressing in the right direction, thenPakistan would become the hub of investment.
Prime Minister said diplomatic efforts have brought down tension in theMiddle East following the recent U.S.-Iran conflict but there is a need tocontinue efforts for a permanent solution.
Talking about situation of occupied Kashmir, Imran Khan said India has beentaken over by extremist racist ideology, which is called the RSS and thisideology believes that India belongs to Hindus only. He said India hasclamped down a curfew on eight million people of Kashmir for almost sixmonths and deputed nine hundred thousand troops in the held valley. He saidPakistan is grateful for the way Turkey stood with the people of Kashmirand the statement given by President Erdogan.
Replying a question about Pak-Turk relationship, the Prime Minister saidTurkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to visit Islamabad inthe middle of this month and he hoped that this visit would furtherstrengthen the brotherly relationship between Islamabad and Ankara.
