ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Khaibar and Pakistan Maritime SecurityAgency Ship Zhob have arrived in Gulf Region as part of Overseas deployment.
PN Ship deployed in Kuwait to enhance bilateral collaboration between thetwo navies. Commodore Muhammad Saleem is the Mission Commander of theFlotilla. This visit is part of the Overseas Deployment of Pakistan NavyShips to the Arabian Gulf.
PNS Khaibar is part of 25thDestroyer Squadron of Pakistan Navy Fleet and iscapable to undertake a variety of maritime operations in a multi-threatenvironment.
Whereas, PMSS Zhob is indigenously built OPV and is equipped withweapons/sensors optimised for policing in Pakistan’s Exclusive EconomicZone (EEZ) and Continental Shelf under the ambit of Pakistan MaritimeSecurity Agency.
During the stay at Kuwait, the Mission Commander along with CommandingOfficers of Khaibar and Zhob called on General Idrees Abdul Latif, DeputyChief of Naval Forces Kuwait.
Matters of mutual interests, including training of Kuwait Navy Officers andsailor in Pakistan Navy training institutes, ship construction projects inPakistan and enhancement of relations between Pakistan Navy and KuwaitNaval Force in various realms came under discussion.
Pakistani delegation also visited Kuwait Navy Ship Maskan and Kuwait NavalBase including Kuwaiti Ship Lift System and Maintenance Support Workshop.Upon completion of the port visit, Passage Exercise (PASSEX) was conductedbetween the Pakistan Navy and Kuwait Navy.
