ISLAMABAD – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Spokesman Altaf AhmedKhan on Wednesday said that ECP would take strict action against thosecontesting candidates of election 2018 who did not submit their returns sofar.Talking to media he advised the non-filer to submit their returns before15th January 2019, otherwise they would not be eligible to hold anylegislative power.He mentioned that after the given date non-filers of returns would besuspended and would face the loss of credibility consequently.“They would lose the membership of either federal or provincial parliamentwhich is definitely a great loss,” he stated.He quoted that ECP had given its suggestions during the session ofelectoral reform committee in the past to ensure the sanctity of parliament.“Being a part of legislation and a government employee this should be myprior responsibility to follow our country’s legislation”, he emphasized.
