KABUL – Officials in eastern parts of the Afghanistan claimed on Tuesdaythat at least 65 Daesh militants were killed in Afghan forces operations.

Nangarhar governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, confirmed thecasualties and said the operations were conducted from the air and groundin Gorgore and Wangora areas of Haska Mena district.

Eighteen other Daesh militants were wounded in the operations, Khogyaniadded.

He said one civilian was killed and thirteen others, including women andchildren, were wounded during the operations.

Khogyani said that Daesh militants use civilian’s houses as theirstrongholds and that is the reason why civilians suffer casualties.

Daesh militants did not comment on the operations.
