Pakistan government fulfills yet another demand of IMF

The federal government has fulfilled the IMF's condition regarding levy after the rise in prices in petroleum. According to sources, the full levy rate on petrol has been imposed, resulting in a levy of 60 rupees per liter on petrol.

Sources from the Ministry of Finance state that a levy of 50 rupees is also imposed on diesel, and there is a concern about increasing the levy on both products up to 60 rupees per liter.

The Ministry of Finance sources have mentioned that approval for increasing the levy was given in the budget, and parliamentary approval is necessary to levy more than 60 rupees.
