KARACHI: (APP) Sindh Minister for Social Welfare Shamim Mumtaz said that international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) were not in the domain of provincial government, adding that after National Action Plan, Sindh government was enacting rules to bring international NGOs into the network at provincial level also.
She said this while responding to various questions raised by newly appointed Social Welfare Officers at one day orientation session held at Social Welfare Institute here on, said a statement on Thursday.
She said that Social Welfare officers can seek audit reports and performance report from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) registered with social welfare department.
She all the officers to activate district and tehsil social welfare committees at district and tehsil respectively for welfare of common man.
She directed all the officers to maintain punctuality and ensure that every official turn to his office in time.
The Minister advised newly recruited officers to be polite, attentive, help and encourage others to explain their ideas freely.
She also advised them to gain proper knowledge and information about their role and responsibilities to be assertive officer so that they can play their role for the development and prosperity of society.
She said that Social Welfare Department is an important department that serve disables, senior citizens, women and children.
She expressed hope that newly young recruited officers would utilize their energy and work with committed to earn good name for department.
On the occasion, Secretary Social Welfare Department Shariq Ahmed, Principle Social Welfare Training Institute Sheeam Arif and others were also present.
