Pakistan Sikhs elect new Pardhan

LAHORE: (APP) Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) has elected Sardar Tara Singh as its Pardhan.

Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Muhammad Siddiqul Farooq announced this while talking to the media after the committee meeting.

He said that the committee appreciated the cooperation of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and requested that 100 new rooms should be constructed and 300 beddings purchased for Janum Asthan Nankana Sahib.

The chairman said that Gurdwara Kiara Sahib will be opened in November this year. He lauded the cooperation of Prime Minister Azad Kashmir for financial assistance of Gurdwara Fifth-Sixth Padshahi.

He announced Rs 50,000 for Aimonjeet Singh, niece of former Pardhan, for getting good marks in Matric examination.

He also announced Rs 38,000 educational expenditure for the Sikh student Gurjeet Singh.

Secretary Board Mian Abdul Qadeer, Secretary Shrines Khalid Ali, Deputy Secretary Imran Gondal and Sikh members attended the meeting.
