According to aviation sources, Ahmedabad Airport is expected to receive 650 scheduled charter aircraft arrivals in the month of October. The first match of the World Cup will be played between England and New Zealand on October 5th, while the Pakistan-India match is scheduled for October 14th in Ahmedabad.
Prominent politicians, business tycoons, showbiz, and sports personalities related to important cricket matches will be arriving in Ahmedabad, and many of them will be arriving on chartered aircraft. According to sources, the Indian cricket board has also inquired about the availability of charter flights for the Pakistan-India match.
Demand for charter flights for business groups has surged one day before the match and one day after the match. According to reports in the Indian media, Bollywood stars are also making efforts to book and secure charter flights.
It should be noted that Ahmedabad Airport has arrangements for parking 43 aircraft, and during the 2022 elections in Gujarat, Ahmedabad Airport managed 79 chartered aircraft in a single day. Ahmedabad Airport schedules 250 domestic and international flights daily.
