The investigation into the attack that took place between Saturday and Sunday nights at the police checkpoint in Mianwali has made significant progress. Both attackers have been identified. On the night between Saturday and Sunday, terrorists attacked the police patrolling post in Mianwali, but the timely response by the Punjab Police and CTD resulted in the elimination of two terrorists, while one was injured. In the exchange, a police officer was martyred.

The authorities initiated an inquiry into this terrorist attack, and important developments have occurred, including the identification of both attackers involved in the police response.

CTD officials have stated that the two deceased terrorists have been identified as Zubair Nawaz and Mohammad Khan, with affiliations to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. Their identification was made possible with the assistance of intelligence agencies and modern software.

According to authorities, Zubair Nawaz was associated with the banned TTP's TTP Group and was the brother of Lucky Marwat, the TTP commander in charge of sectarian killings, extortion, and other crimes in Punjab.

The second terrorist, Mohammad Khan, was also a member of the same banned TTP group and was considered more dangerous than Zubair Nawaz.
