India gets yet another snub from United States Congress over Occupied Kashmir lockdown

WASHINGTON -India gets yet another snub from United States Congress Woman over Occupied Kashmir lockdown.

US Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called for an end to the torture and violence in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK).

In a tweet, the US Congresswoman has said that she supports democracy, equality and human rights for all. She further said that she stands for the basic human dignity of Kashmiris. “Reports of violence and torture are extremely concerning, and the blockade from communication and life-saving medical care must end.

It has been 58 days since the Indian government imposed a lock down in IoK and also suspended communication services in the region. This decision by India was taken after it abrogated Article 370 from its constitution and stripped of the special status given to the valley.

The Indian forces have also made over 4000 arrests and incarcerated them in India as the capacity in IoK was filled.
