KARACHI: (APP) Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah Saturday announced that Sindh will contribute 1,000 megawatts in the national grid till July 2018.
The garbage collection in Karachi will be mechanized in the coming six months' time.

He was addressing to annual dinner of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), said a statement here on Saturday.
It said that during his speech, he also tasked Minister for Industries, Manzoor Wassan, to prepare projects for development of all industrial areas in Karachi,
He called for bringing in the plans and assured that he was ready to allocate funds as per the requirements.
Sindh government interest free loan scheme
Shah also said that the Rs 10 billion package announced for the development of Karachi would be fully utilized on 18 development schemes which would be completed within the next four to six months.
"The Planning and Development Department has already approved these schemes while the contractors will be shortlisted by October 2016 and the development work will be completed in the next six months which may result in causing temporary problems but these schemes, upon completion, will surely provide huge relief to the citizen," the chief minister added.

He said that cleanliness was one of the biggest problems of Karachi and that Chinese company had been taken onboard for garbage collection in South and Korangi Districts. Within six month garbage collection in the city will be mechanized, he informed.
The chief minister told the gathering that after taking his office oath, when he meet with Prime Minister Muhammed Nawaz Sharif, he requested prime minister to give permission for upgrading the grid and laying transmission line from the province's own resources to connect its renewable projects to the main grid.
"I have guaranteed the prime minister that we will be adding 800 to 1,000 megawatts before the next general election takes place," he said.

Shah announced that documentation for this proposal has been completed, NEPRA will soon give the tariff and by July 2018, Sindh will contribute this renewable and clean energy to the national system.
