Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar emphasized the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) lack of restrictions on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and rejected the idea of dismantling it as a political party during an interaction with journalists at Mayo Hospital in Lahore.
PM Kakar made it clear that the caretaker government would not engage in illegal or unconstitutional actions and did not perceive any obstacles to political activities in the country.
He stressed the government's policy of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all registered political parties, both large and small, in the upcoming elections. He noted that those expressing concerns about a level playing field had the freedom to voice their claims.
It's worth mentioning that the ECP, in a verdict related to PTI's prohibited funding case, found that the party had received funds from business tycoon Arif Naqvi and 34 foreign nationals.
In response to a question about the Palestine issue, PM Kakar revealed Pakistan's persistent efforts to raise the matter on global platforms. He condemned the recent aggression by Israel, calling it "horrible" and emphasizing its devastating impact on Gaza.
Pakistan had co-hosted an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) with Saudi Arabia to address the issue.
Kakar also highlighted that in his interactions with various global leaders, the Chinese leadership, and international media, he had conveyed the government's and the Pakistani nation's sentiments and stance on the matter.
