Chairman Pakistan Bar Council, Hasan Raza Pasha, expressed the view that the Supreme Court should turn its attention to Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid (Retd) following Absar Alam's claim that he had faced pressure from him during the 2017 Faizabad sit-in.
Pasha emphasized the importance of ensuring due process by summoning Hameed to court and hearing his side before making any judgments or issuing directions, in accordance with the law.
Pasha also raised concerns about the prolonged delay in the Faizabad sit-in case, suggesting that it may have been intentionally overlooked.
He praised the current bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, as being well-informed about the case and urged the implementation of the verdict.
In a related development, former chief of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, Absar Alam, highlighted that he had exposed flaws in the Pakistani system in his statement submitted to the Supreme Court in connection with the Faizabad sit-in case.
