MIRPUR (AJK): (APP) An 8-member Kashmiri delegation would attend the 34th session of United Nations Human Rights Council being held in Geneva (Switzerland) from March 6.
Eminent Kashmiri leader and human rights activist Altaf Hussain Wani is leading the delegation which include Sardar Amjad Yousaf Khan Other members include Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, Hassan Bana, Ahmed Qurashi, Ishtiaq Hameed, Mrs Shamim Shawl and Shugafta Ashraf will join the delegation later.
Before leaving for Geneva, leader of the delegation Altaf Hussain Wani told APP
Wednesday that during three weeks stay, the delegation would meet UN officials, diplomats of various countries and members of international human rights watch dogs, to appraise them about the human rights situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.
The delegation also plans to hold seminars and photo exhibition and a protest demonstration in Geneva to create awareness about the sufferings of people of Kashmir and expose Indian aggression and blatant violations of international human rights standards, Wani added.
