Pakistan PM - FM hold emergency meeting in Islamabad over US Donald Trump's threatening tweet

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif called on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the backdrop of the US President Donald Trump’s recent statement.

They minutely discussed the latest statement of Donald Trump in which he said that the US would no more give any aid to Pakistan.

They also discussed foreign policy of Pakistan besides a response to the statement of Donald Trump Meanwhile, Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan would tell the entire world the difference between facts and “fiction”

In his tweet, the Foreign Minister wrote, “We will respond to President Trump’s tweet shortly inshallah…Will let the world know the truth..difference between facts & fiction”.

Let it be known that Pakistan Army’s spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor on Thursday said that Pakistan had done enough and could not do more for anyone.

He added that Pakistan would not accept any further US demands – something that can potentially unravel ties between Islamabad and Washington.

It merits mentioning that the US President in his recent statement today said that his country has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, adding “they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools.”

Trump reaffirmed his allegation that Pakistan provides give safe haven to the terrorists and doesn’t cooperate in the anti-terrorism operation against the banned outfits in Afghanistan. “They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!” he tweeted.
