LAHORE: With an aim to provide cars on cheap rates, the Regal Automobiles Industries Limited has launched its much-awaited 800cc hatchback, Prince Pearl, in an impressive ceremony held in the provincial capital on Friday.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar graced the occasion along with other high-profile dignitaries and auto sector representatives. The car, which would hit the market from February 1st (tomorrow), would be in six different colours and at 16 3S dealerships across Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab governor remarked, “It is heartening to see a local company taking the initiative to provide such a well-equipped and affordable automobile to the masses.”
Talking to this scribe, Regal Automobiles Operations Director Tayyab Naseer said, “We have manufactured almost 400 to 500 units of Prince Pearl. Owing to the tough competition we face in the market, we are also striking agreements with the corporate sector to promote and sell our products. We want to break the monopoly of the already available and costly brands in Pakistan.”
He said the company was offering a complete range of light, commercial, passenger and SUV range with complete after-sale services and technical support to the customers. “The company has invested Rs1.5 billion in this project to create jobs and ensure industrial and economic stability in Pakistan.”
He informed that the company was providing EFI engine which produces 40HP and is equipped with modern features such as power windows, power steering, multimedia system and a warranty of three years or 60,000kms, whichever comes first.
Pearl Prince has been priced at Rs1,049,000.
