Secretary Elections Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has written a letter to the caretaker KPK Chief Minister complaining about the misconduct of the members of the cabinet and asking him to remove such members who are interfering in political matters.
In the letter, the secretary informed CM that he noticed that ministers, advisers and special assistants are interfering in political matters of the province.
He said in the letter that it has come to the notice of the Commission that the caretaker cabinet was appointed on the basis of political affiliations.
He further wrote that an example of this is the case of former caretaker minister Shahid Khattak who later resigned from his post.
According to the text of the letter, the secretary wrote that apart from this, other ministers have admitted their party affiliations to the media.
The behaviour of some ministers, advisors, special assistants and others is against the Election Act 2017, he added.
The secretary wrote that the Election Commission requests that such ministerial advisers and special assistants be removed from their posts in order to ensure fair and transparent elections for the upcoming elections.
