Tariq Fatemi meets British PM and Chinese FM in USA

WASHINGTON: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi met with British Prime Minister and Chinese Foreign Minister on the side lines of Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, USA.

 

They held talks on bilateral ties and enhancement of cooperation in security related matters.

 

Leaders exchanged their views on mutual issues and vowed to strengthen cooperation in trade, economy, regional peace, security and countering violent extremism and terrorism.

 

British Prime Minister David Cameron expressed his grief on the loss of precious lives in the terror attack in Lahore.

 

He expressed his solidarity with government of Pakistan and nation and ensured his support to counter terrorism.

 

He also appreciated the government’s measures and role of Pak Security Forces in the fight against terrorism.

 

David Cameroon said “Britain will continue cooperation with Pakistan in economy and security fields.  There is a need to further bolster cooperation in education and energy sectors.”

 

Fatemi thanked British PM and reiterated that terrorism is a common enemy of both country and Pakistan has decided to root out this menace.

 

Tariq Fatemi is representing Pakistan at the security summit as Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif cancelled his programme to attend the summit after the suicide blast in Lahore which killed 75 people and injured hundreds.
