Special Court asks Musharraf for written reply over his departure to abroad

ISLAMABAD: Special Court, hearing the treason case has asked Musharraf and his guarantor Rashid Qureshi to submit their written reply in court over the Musharaf's departure.

 

As per details, three member bench led by Justice Mazhar Alim heard the high treason case here at today (Thursday) while special court expressed its anger over the absence of Pervaiz Musharraf and asked prosecutor Akram Shiekh that “why did government allow Musharraf to leave abroad and was government unware about the court orders”?

 

During the proceeding, Court further asked Akram Shiekh why Musharraf's name had been removed by government and if government was not aware that Musharraf had been summoned by court then why he did not inform authorities before removing his name from ECL.

 

On the remarks of court, prosecutor Akram Shiekh said that court can cancel guarantee and issue arrest warrants of Musharraf while former president statements can be recorded via Skype and video link.

 

Federal interior secretary said in his statement before court that Musharraf name had been removed over the verdict of SC and he was allowed to leave for abroad on humanitarian basis.
