Federal cabinet takes important decision over buying Coronavirus vaccine

Islamabad: The federal cabinet on Monday given go-ahead for the purchase ofvaccine against COVID-19 has approved $150 million funds for it.

Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of the cabinet, which gaveapproval for several items included in 14-point agenda.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to PM on Health Dr Faisal Sultan said thatseven companies have been shortlisted for the procurement of the vaccine.

The cabinet also discussed the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Multanrally. Several members raised questions over the strategy of the Punjabgovernment to handle the opposition’s rally with some opposing the decisionof creating hurdles and arresting political workers.

The premier in his remarks said that PDM did not care about lives of peopledespite the fact that coronavirus is on resurgence in the country.

The cabinet also approved golden handshake policy for employees of thePakistan Steel Mills.

It also discussed matters related to gas shortage and price. The premierhas sought briefing on it during next cabinet meeting.

The cabinet also approved license of a private airline Air Sial while nodecision was taken about cutting diplomatic ties with France in themeeting.

It also vowed to complete Ravi Urban Development project, Bundle Islandproject timely.
