Religious protesters to end sitin across Pakistan over two conditions: Sources

ISLAMABAD – Religious Protesters on Thursday agreed to end theirprotests againstthe Supreme Court verdict.

SC had overturned the death sentence of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman whowas convicted for blasphemy in 2010.

Two conditions were set by the protesters, including a review petition andplacing her name on ECL.

Protesters had decided to file a review petition. Authorities have decidedto place Asia Bibi’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL), they added.

Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier constituted a committee to negotiate withthe agigators.

The committee – which includes Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi,Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and State Minsiter for InteriorShehryar Afridi – has been tasked to devise strategies in the wake of anyuntoward incident in the country.
