India frustrated and irked at Pakistan China new move under CPEC

NEW DELHI – The Ministry of External Affairs of India had been irked by thenewly proposed Pakistan China passenger bus service under CPEC.

MEA on Wednesday stated that the proposed idea of a bus service betweenLahore (Pakistan) and Tashkurgan (Kashgar – China) violates India’s”sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

“We have lodged strong protests with China and Pakistan on the proposed busservice that will operate through Kahsmir region under ‘China-PakistanEconomic Corridor’,” Official Spokesperson of the MEA said in a statement.

“It is Government of India’s consistent and well-known position that theso-called China-Pakistan ‘Boundary Agreement’ of 1963 is illegal andinvalid, and has never been recognised by the Government of India.

Therefore, any such bus service through Pakistan Kashmir will be aviolation of India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statementadded.

The Indian Foreign Ministry’s statement comes after China and Pakistanearlier announced that the locals of the two countries will soon have a busservice between Lahore and Tashkurgan.
