ISLAMABAD – A parliamentary delegation from Malaysia headed by its speakerMohamad Ariff bin Mohamad Yusof witnessed proceedings of National Assemblyon Tuesday.
Welcoming the delegation, the Speaker Asad Qaisar said Pakistan andMalaysia enjoy historic relations.
He said Pakistan deeply appreciates the Malaysian support to Kashmir cause.
He pointed out the Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed effectivelyraised the Kashmir dispute at the recently concluded UN General Assemblysession.
The chair said the visit of the Malaysian parliamentary delegation toPakistan will open new vistas of cooperation and strengthen mutual tiesbetween the two countries.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Swati said the people of Pakistanhave great love and affection for the Malaysian people.
He expressed the confidence that relations between the two countries willgain further strength in the days ahead.
PML (N) leader Ahsan Iqbal and PPP Leader Raja Parvez Ashraf in theirremarks said the Malaysian people are very close to our heart.
They said both the brotherly countries share common history and we aregrateful to Malaysia for always extending support to Pakistan at theinternational fora.
