NAB approved high profile cases and enquiries against top officials

ISLAMABAD – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Executive Board Meetingapproved high profile cases and enquiries against top officials, RadioPakistan has reported.

NABhas approved four corruption inquiries against various individuals andentities. The Executive Board meeting of the anti-corruption watchdog washeld in Islamabad on Tuesday with retired justice Javed Iqbal in the chair.

Those who will be inquired include owners of Exide Batteries, officials ofWAPDA Water Wing and Irrigation Department Rajanpur among others.

The meeting disposed of cases against Sultan Ali Lakhani, Messrs. ShanGroup and others after the settlement of their issues with the banks.

The apex board of the anti-graft body also approved various investigationsfor further legal action.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman Javed Iqbal said NAB is committed on thepolicy of Accountability for All. He said taking the cases of megacorruption to their logical conclusion is main priority of theanti-corruption body. Javed Iqbal said NAB has retrieved seventy onebillion rupees in last twenty two months and submitted in the nationalexchequer, which is a record achievement.
