Malaysia gives yet another blow to India over Occupied Kashmir lockdown

ISLAMABAD – Mohamad Ariff Bin Md. Yusuf has hit out against India overOccupied Kashmir lockdown and stressed that Kashmir issue must be resolvedas per the UN resolutions. EARLIER Malaysian PM Mahatir Mohammad had calledIndia as invader in Occupied Kashmir.

He Kashmir issue a flashpoint and an impediment in bringing peace in theregion. He said that the issue must be resolved in accordance with the UNSecurity Council Resolutions and international commitments.

India terms Kashmir issue as bilateral one and sees sees no role of the UNSecurity Council.

He said Malaysia and Pakistan share multiple commonalities which made themcloser to each other.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has asked for Malaysia’s support inresolution of Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of people ofKashmir and the UN Resolutions.

He was talking to his Malaysian counterpart Mohamad Ariff Bin Md. Yusuf whoalong with a delegation called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Asad Qaiser said that fifty-seven days of lockdown in Indian OccupiedKashmir has converted the valley into a virtual jail and the situation inKashmir valley is at the verge of a human catastrophe.

He said Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is the unfinished agenda of thepartition of Sub-Continent and leaving the Kashmir dispute unresolved hasbrought the peace of the region at stake.

Speaker National Assembly said continued denial of the due right toKashmiri people for decades and recent unilateral action by India hasexposed its democratic outlook.

Earlier, both sides discussed matters of bilateral interest and ways andmeans to further strengthen relations between the two parliaments. Theyagreed for enhancing cooperation in legislation, financial oversight andparliamentary staff exchange for sharing each other’s experiences.
