NEW DELHI – Indian Defence Minister seek Pakistan’s inclusion in FinancialAction Task Force Blacklist.
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) can blacklist Pakistan anytime forthe country’s involvement in terror financing, Indian Defence MinisterRajnath Singh said today.
He revealed that Asia Pacific Group of the FATF had put Pakistan in aterror ‘blacklist’ for its failure to curb funneling of funds to terrorgroups responsible for scores of terror attacks in India, a claim denied bythe FATF Asia Pacific Group.
“The FATF can anytime blacklist Pakistan for terror financing,” he said atthe Defence Accounts Department Day event.
The Defence Minister said excessive militarisation and focus on wrongpolicies without financial progress have resulted in a situation such thatPakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is not able to make arrangements for aflight to attend a global event.
Mr Singh’s statement came after Imran Khan and his delegation were forcedto return to New York after the special jet given to him by the Saudigovernment developed a technical fault while heading to Islamabad.
