PTI makes new conditional talks offer to establishment

Raoof Hasan, a spokesperson for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has voicedoptimism about resolving the ongoing impasse between PTI and the military,emphasizing that ending this deadlock is crucial for the state’swell-being, according to ARY News.

In an interview with Voice of America (VoA), Hasan asserted that thestalemate between PTI and the army should be resolved promptly. He stressedthe urgency of initiating dialogue between the two parties without furtherdelay. Hasan underscored that achieving political stability in Pakistandepends on acknowledging PTI’s mandate, whether through judicial review ornew elections.

He clarified that PTI does not aim to involve the military in politics butacknowledged the necessity of engaging in discussions with the military dueto their substantial influence in the country.

Hasan proposed that a judicial commission investigate the events of May 9and that if any wrongdoing is uncovered, PTI would be willing to offer anapology.

He also noted that some PTI leaders have personal connections within thearmy that could aid in future negotiations. Additionally, Hasan mentionedthat PTI founder Imran Khan has authorized Mahmood Achakzai to engage innegotiations with both political parties and, if needed, the military.

Hasan criticized the current government for its inability to influence thejudiciary effectively, highlighting that the government’s functionality isreliant on judicial support. He observed a growing trend of independencewithin the judiciary.

Finally, Hasan refuted claims of his connections with anti-nationalelements, challenging the information minister to provide concrete evidencesupporting such allegations.
