QUETTA – Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar took the oath as the first ever womanChief Justice of Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Saturday.
Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai administered oath to her in aceremony held at Governor’s House.
The ceremony was attended by the outgoing Balochistan High Court ChiefJustice Muhammad Noor Miskanzai, other judges, high ranking officials,lawyers and elites of the city.
Justice Safdar’s nomination as Chief Justice of BHC was confirmed by ChiefJustice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar in July and she will bereplacing outgoing chief justice, Justice Noor Muhammad Meskanzai, whosetenure ended on Friday.
