The National Assembly today passed several bills including the OfficialSecrets Amendment Bill, 2023 and Pakistan Airports Authority Bill.
According to the Statement of Objects and Reasons of the bill, it isimperative to amend the official Secrets Act 1923 and make it moreeffective in view of the changing social milieu to ensure safety andsecurity of official documents.
Toshakhana Management and Regulation Bill 2023 passed by the house todayenvisaged that the existing and future gifts to be received in Toshakhanashall be disposed of through an open auction. The proceeds of such anauction shall be kept in a separate account and will be utilized forpromoting female primary education in the most backward areas of thecountry.
The two bills were moved by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs MurtazaJaved Abbassi.
