COAS calls for ending red tapism and bureaucratic snags through SIFC

Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir has said that in order to wardoff red-tapism and bureaucratic snags in the way of development, theGovernment of Pakistan as “one-step initiative” has formed SpecialInvestment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

Addressing the inaugural session of Pakistan Minerals Summit in Islamabadon Tuesday, General Asim Munir maintained that SIFC’s establishment wasaimed at bringing all the stakeholders at one platform. “This Councilconsists of representatives from military, civil bureaucracy, federalgovernment and provincial governments,” he added.

General Asim Munir said that it is our social responsibility that everyoneshould play a role for country’s economy. As a nation, we should all comeforward and work hard, and God willing, we will succeed, he added.

The Army Chief invited foreign investors to discover “hidden treasures” inshape of minerals in Pakistan. He said, “Our homeland is blessed withvarious minerals, and it is our social responsibility to contribute to thenational economy.

General Asim Munir said the Pakistani government had established theSpecial Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in collaboration with allinstitutions. Its establishment brings all stakeholders to a commonplatform, besides formulating new principles for easy business for bothlocal and foreign investors.

General Asim Munir emphasized that walking on the path of peace andprosperity is the key to stability, and mineral projects are sources ofprogress for the public.

While referring to teachings of the Holy Quran, he said that Allah helpsthose who help themselves. He further stated Pakistan was blessed withsnow-capped mountains, vast deserts and coastal plains. “It is our socialresponsibility to play our role and contribute to the country’s economy,”he said.

On this occasion, COAS thanked foreign investors from different countries,including Saudi Arabia, for their participation in the summit.
