Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started considering reducing thenumber of players in the central contract and increasing the compensation.

According to sources, the Cricket Board of Pakistan has decided that thenumber of players will be reduced in the next central contract, the numbermay be closer to 15 to 17.

A suggestion is to reduce the number of players and increase thecompensation. ۔

The players’ salaries and match fees have been agreed to be increased by20%, while the match representation of the country’s representatives in theTest team will be discussed further.

Sources said that the preliminary meeting for the new national cricketcentral contract will be held on Thursday. Cricketer categories are alsolikely to change.

On the other hand, cricketers who play in all three formats will be givenpriority in the central contract. It is evident that many cricketers,including all-rounders Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez and fast bowlerMohammed Amir, will be relinquished in the upcoming central contract, whileseveral players’ categories are likely to be changed.
