ISLAMABAD – Ten Iranian sailors, arrested by the Pakistani authorities andkept in Karachi city jail, were released on Thursday due to the efforts byIranian Consulate General and the follow-up of their case.

Iranian sailors were captured while wandering on the sea and illegallyentering the Pakistani territorial waters. The sailors returned home on anIran Air flight.

In March this year 9 sailors were also released by Pakistani authorities.

Over the last two years, 40 captured Iranian citizens in Pakistan werereleased through efforts by the Iranian consulate general.
