*ISLAMABAD – Former President Pervez Musharraf has decided not to appearin court due to his poor health on Thursday.*
He has submitted an application to delay the court proceedings untilRamazan. The application contained medical certificates and pictures of thehospital where he is being treated.
The application states that former President Pervez Musharraf is ready toreturn to the country, but doctors are not allowing him to travel. “PervezMusharraf cannot come to country due to malignant disease,” it stated.
On April 1, the Supreme Court had ruled that former president PervezMusharraf will lose the defence right if he failed to appear before courton May 2.
According to the verdict, Pervez Musharraf will have no right to record hisstatement under section 342. “However, Pervez Musharraf will be entitled toall facilities if he appears before court,” it added.
