BEIJING – A Chinese passenger opened the emergency exit of a plane shortlybefore take off because he felt too hot inside.

The passenger, who said he was feeling too hot and stifled, decided to opena window – but to his surprise, the entire “wall” collapsed and theemergency slide was deployed, reported the South China Morning Post. Theincident took place at the Mianyang Nanjiao Airport on April 27, reportsthe Daily Maillink>.

According to several media reports, the 25-year-old man, identified only byhis surname Chen, told the police that he really wasn’t aware that thehandle was part of the emergency exit door.
