BEIJING: The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that the Chinesegovernment expected that all the political parties in Pakistan would stayunited and uphold the supreme interest of the country’s development andstability.
While responding to a question about the no-confidence move againstincumbent Prime Minister Imran Khan by the Opposition, Chinese ForeignMinistry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said:
“China is committed to non-interference policy, adding that as an allweather strategic cooperative partner and friendly neighbour of Pakistan,it is our sincere hope that all parties in Pakistan will stay united anduphold the major interest of country’s developments and stability.”
Pakistan is currently going through political turmoil as pressure mountswith every passing day towards the vote of no-confidence against PM ImranKhan.
The PM Imran Khan-led government has lost the majority in the Lower Houseand the no-confidence motion against the premier with most of the alliedparties siding with the Opposition.
The united Opposition submitted a no-trust motion against the premier onMarch 8, 2022, — on which the National Assembly is expected to vote onApril 3.
