*KARACHI*: An extremely hot and dry weather will prevail across the countryduring the month of Ramzan, said a Met Office official on Saturday.
Met Director General Ghulam Rasool said that temperature is likely toremain higher than normal during the months of May and June and added thatSindh has witnessed the hottest March over a period of last few years.
He also said that the country is likely to receive less rainfall in Apriland May. “The demand for water would increase due to hot weather, however,the beginning of monsoon in the last week of June would decrease‘drought-like’ conditions.”
Mangla and Tarbela dams are at a dead water-level, but the things will getbetter with the melting of glaciers in April and May; however, that wouldnot be enough to fulfill the water needs.
