ISLAMABAD – A recent survey has revealed that employment opportunities forPakistanis in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf are on the decline.
In the past four years there has been a decrease of 400,000 in Pakistaniswho have left for better job prospects in these countries.
Countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and U.A.E wereconsidered the employment hub for Pakistanis. According to the Bureau ofImmigration and Overseas Employment, in the year 2015, 522,000 Pakistanisleft for these countries in search for jobs. But these numbers have reducedsince then.
In 2017, the number of Pakistanis leaving for Saudi Arabia and U.A.E hascome down to 100,000.
According to analysts, the decrease in the number of Pakistanis looking forwork opportunities is due to increased taxation in these countries alongwith the introduction of strict laws.
