LAHORE: Gunmen took away cash, jewllery and other valuables worth Rs3.6million from the house of former capital city police officer (CCPO) MalikIqbal in Defence on Saturday.

They broke into the upper portion of the house and thrashed themother-in-law of Malik Iqbal’s son for resistance, a police official said.

According to the police official, security guards were present outside theresidence when the robbery occurred. No CCTV cameras are installed in andaround the residence.

The police collected samples for forensic analysis and startedinvestigation into the crime.
