Russia – China give an embarrassing blow to US in UN Security Council

NEW YORK – Russia and China on Thursday gave an embarrassing blow to US inthe UN Security Council.

Russia and China used their veto at the UN Security Council to block a USresolution calling for new presidential elections in Venezuela andunimpeded deliveries of humanitarian aid.

France, Germany, and Britain were among the nine countries that backed theproposed measure.
