*ISLAMABAD – An important progress was made in the murder case of MaulanaSamiul Haq as the police nominated his personal secretary on Friday.*
The police produced him in the court of Civil Judge Zeb Shahzad Cheema whoremanded him for four days. The court also ordered to produce him on March5. The police had sought his 10-day remand.
On November 2, Maulana Samiul Haq, chief of his faction of the JamiatUlema-e-Islam (JUI), was murdered by unidentified suspect(s) in a Safarivilla in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi when his personal secretary Syed AhmedShah had gone to get water from a nearby filtration plant. He mysteriouslywent missing during his funeral.
Special teams were formed for his arrest. Later, he was arrested with theassistance of his relatives.
