ISLAMABAD – An investigation committee, formed to probe the accusations ofanchorperson Dr Shahid Masood regarding the convict Imran in Zainab murdercase, submitted its report in the Supreme Court on Thursday.
The committee has termed 18 accusations leveled by the anchorperson asbaseless.
The report says that no evidence linking Imran to international mafia andaffiliation to political personality had been found.
Masood, in his show, alleged that Zainab’s rapist and murderer was a memberof an international pornography ring. He further stated that the convicthad 37 foreign currency bank accounts.
He claimed that Imran had links with a federal minister and prominentpersonality in the country.
Punjab government’s spokesperson Malik Ahmad Khan categorically dismissedreckless allegations of Dr. Shahid Masood while terming them an attempt tobelittle the provincial government’s efforts.
While terming Masood’s allegations a figment of him, Khan stated that StateBank of Pakistan (SBP) thoroughly scrutinized local and international dataand didn’t find any account linked to Imran.
