ISLAMABAD – Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi has saidthe federal government has a plan to set up water treatment plants aroundKarachi Port and supply it to the industry.
In an interview, he said a large water treatment plant and many small oneswould be installed in Karachi under a phase-wise programme by the Ministryof Maritime Affairs, which would help control dumping of industrial refusein the sea.
He said a large number of national and international companies have showntheir interest to invest in such projects and consultations are under wayregarding the expansion of Karachi Port.
