ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar Thursday tooksuo motu notice of the anti judiciary speeches by the PML-N leader TalalChaudhry.
Talal Chaudhry has been summoned in the Supreme Court and simultaneously SChas asked for the record of his anti judiciary speeches.
Earlier CJP has also taken suo moto notice over the alleged bank accountsand assess held abroad by Pakistani citizens illegally.
He observed that reports were circulating that people in positions of powerhad been looting money and transferring it to foreign countries.
The Supreme Court asked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to submit areport about steps taken over the matter of offshore companies after therelease of the Panama Papers and Paradise Papers.
The court directed the FBR, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Securities andExchange Commission of Pakistan and Finance Ministry to submit a detailedreport on the matter.
The chief justice asked the SBP, Intelligence Bureau, Inter-ServicesIntelligence, Military Intelligence and Federal Investigation Agency toshare information with the court.
He said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SBP should share details ofMemorandums of Understanding and agreements inked with various countriesfor the return of looted money.
The CJP also directed FBR Chairman Tariq Mahmood Pasha to inform the courthow many Pakistanis hold accounts in Swiss banks and banks in othercountries.
